I have been to DG's chat 2-3 times so far, and now, when I want to log in under that same nickname, it says I'm banned/that nickname is already in use. I can't figure out what seems to be the problem.

There is someone using the nick name Ana on Freenode already.
You definitely aren't banned, though, just checked that again.
If you use a different nick, then you should be able to log in fine.
