yeah ... it's the ps1
not sure if that's one of those irritating european/american naming differences

i think during the weekend i will dig out the wipeout series
playing those racing type games (never could bother with actual cars however) are much more fun with the twistable neGcon controller

oh yeah, had that one. Then switched over to a ps2 since its all backward compatible.

I love Spyro Year of the Dragon (nostalgic reasons) and FF9. The only 2 PSX/PS1 games I still have.

I sold all my old systems a couple years ago.  Atari 5200, NES, SNES, Gameboy, GameGear, PSP, Genesis, PS1.  I still have a PS2 around as a DVD player and an original backwards compatible PS3.  Oh and the wife has a DS.

i also sold my consoles over the past few years. Now i just have my PC. i stay with my brother currently and he has our old Atari 2600 from when we were younger. When he hooks it up to his 52" it looks like shite but it's both hilarious and nostalgic. It's hard to believe we ever thought that that was cutting edge technology. And my oh my how wearing it is on the wrists and hands using those old joysticks compared to today's more ergonomic controllers. It's great for some laughs, but i will confess to being a graphics and sfx whore any day =P

What ? how did i miss this thread ?

I too love the old school classics

I still have my modded PSX (not the later released PS1 which was slimmed down, and more "round" in shape)
a sega genesis, and a radio shack coco2 (tandy TRS80)
as well (for certain nostalgic reasons) as all the games ever made for the
Nintendo, Master System, Super Nintendo, Genesis, and N64 (in rom format of course)

How else am i supposed to get my Contra fix ? :P
Then, theres all the old SF classics (which i too play from time to time)
Killer Instinct, & Mortal Kombat (thank you MAME)

Who really needs a PS3/360/Wii ?
old school is about gameplay, not graphics (except for SFIV)
