Don't mind Creepster, she can be a bit grumpy about stuff, seemingly more in the mornings! :P
I couldn't really make anything out enough to ring any bells. Maybe someone else will know.

"eastern germany" kind of gives me the shivers just from a linguistic point of view q= and for those who do not know, DDR is "Deutsche Demokratische Republic" (german democratic republic) which was East Germany prior the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 (versus West Germany = BRD "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", federal republik of germany) BRD/DDRnot going into more details before i make a fool out of myself, since i am 100% West German without any ties to the old DDR

I figured the eastern German part. I do know the basic history of my neighbor country :P But I didnt know the DDR uniforms looked so much like Wehrmacht uniforms.

They are a swiss band which played for the first time a week ago. They don't have myspace or songs anywhere and far as I know maybe they put up this band just to make the show.
I know the singer personally and I met him on MSN this evening, he claimed the whole song is original!! I can't believe that! He's quite a weird guy, you never know if he's joking or telling the truth. IMHO this isn't original music, and I'm quite sure they playbacked another band. But I can't find which song it is.
For the band's uniforms, in my canton (cantons in switzerland are quite like states in the USA, they are very different one from another) there is quite a DDR/communist revival and the singer is a great fan of DDR (seriously!!). As far that he wore the uniform even at carnival.. . Don't know why they look like nazi uniforms, but they are 100% original DDR clothes!

I can imagine that there might have been some unintentional influence by other music. It does happen, though artists are loath to admit it. Swiss? I've heard there is a fair bit of difference in cultural makeup in Switzerland. I also hear that you guys are bigger gun nuts (if not so blatant about it) than even we are in Texas! :)

I've heard there is a fair bit of difference in cultural makeup in Switzerland. I also hear that you guys are bigger gun nuts (if not so blatant about it) than even we are in Texas! :) Yes, I read once that Switzerland was the country with most guns per habitant. But I don't think we are so blatant about it (but I'm not sure I understand "blatant", I guess you mean "to brag about it") it's just that in Switzerland we don't have a professional army but a militia army. Every male has to make military service and bring his rifle home, and when the service is over he has to keep it at home. So there's almost one rifle for every male and you can imagine all the old guns swiss people have in their ceiling. Also hunting and sport shooting is quite popular here so that adds even more guns. But I don't see swiss people as a violent people, at least not in the "agressive way". There is quite a controversy here because many people commit suicide using army's guns but killins are very low compared to other western countries. And most of the killings are done by strangers. What about Texas? Is there any industrial/ebm scene? I don't know any band which come from Texas.

I love Switzerland. At least, I love their chocolate and its a great place to go on holiday. Mountain hiking yay =D
Wait, I misunderstood that part about the guns. Does it mean that every guy has to buy his own gun and after wards can take it home? So if I would like to bring in a say G36 and my neighbor a SCAR that would be allowed? Or does the state provide you with a standard issue rifle?

Well, obviously it's the army that gives you the weapon. It's the Fass 90 or SIG 550, don't know if you already heard about it. And you don't have to pay it, instead you get paid while making the military service. Afterwards you have to keep it home with a box of ammo you can't open until the give you the order. They check the box every 1-2 years because after you finished military service you have to do "mandatory shooting" ("tiro obbligatorio") to keep trained. There you use your box of ammo and after you're finished they give another one that you have to bring to the next shooting.
So you've already been in Switzerland? May I ask you where did you go?
Unfortunately I haven't made any "long range" trip in my life, but I hope I will get to see Texas sometime in my life. You know, the whole world is Chuck Norris's fan!
