(...)

Hey, not at all. Was just reciprocating. At least i dinnae get the 'smack-my-bitch-up' you gave that other dude in that other thread. That was fuckin sweet =D  But i digress. i actually welcome any and all comments at any time - e'en perceived negatory - as i am a firm believer in anti-self-delusion. The occasional smack in the face, whether intentional or not, is actually a boon to personal growth. That being said, i dinnae take anything negative from what you said.

And just to say and put it out there, my desire to tat my whole body is derived from a very psycho-spiritual core, wherein each and every thing sigiled or glyphed upon my flesh comes from somewhere within; not to treatise upon it - suffice to say - each and all are of great personal import and design.

The fact that the 'civilized' world hasn't caught up leaves me as yet again, a form of an anachronism. But hey, fuck the man. And yes, i realize how easy it is to denounce society from the barrel of a keyboard. But shit, sometimes our human race just fukkin bothers me.

Also, i'd ne'er call you a sell-out. It's called 'must needs'. People do what they need in order to survive. Just think of yourself as part of a secret society. The Digital Gunfire Kryptos or the DGK. Feel free to come up with an insignia for generations to ponder over...

Glad my comments weren't taken negatively.

My next tat is going to be what I have up for my avatar.  It's to commemorate my degree. Most of mine are mementos of times or experiences past. My favorite is the one I have for one of my ex's:

LOL at DGK. I'll give it some thought.

i am also considering getting a second tattoo (right now the money is missing, but sooner or later it'll work out ... hopefully soon-ISH)

i want to get the DNA double helix as an open spiral around my upper arm ... BUT ...

so, DNA is looking like a twisted rope ladder (im not going to go into details, you can read that in every biology text book or worst case WIKI)
DNA is made up from a few components, one of them nucleobases
there's 4 different nucleobases (A, T, C and G)

actually ... it'll become a little bit more difficult because DNA is first translated into RNA, which will change all G into C (and vice versa) and all T into A, but all A into U (not T)

each 3 of those (RNA) bases code for one amino acid which can be abbreviated with a single letter from the alphabet (please see this)

now, there's only 20 amino acids and therefore in some cases more than one triplet of nucleobases can code for one amino acid ... anyway ...

SO .... my idea is to arrange the nucleobases in a form that each 3 will code for specific amino acids which single letters will spell sensible words having meaning to myself
they can spell my first name, my chat name and some other things i might have space for (it all becomes also a matter of scale and size)

added the RNA step between DNA and protein im not sure if i screw the whole science concept and go from DNA directly to amino acids or if i need to use the complementary sequence for DNA to make sure the RNA sequence would be correct to code for all those amino acids .... errrrrrr.....

i got a abstract template for the DNA double helix as well which is this

if that does not work out, maybe i can go for the stereotypical, cheesy rose ... but then in the ASCII format as well (at my ankle)

Theory is when you know everything and nothing works.
Practice is when things work, and no one knows why.
Here we combine theory and practice.
Nothing works and no one knows why.

Very interesting..

Im studying bioorganic chemistry, so your post seems to me quite familiar.. :D

Its a magnificent idea to tatoo with DNA code..

But the pyrimidine bases are quite similar to each other, that tatoo have to be in high resolution..Thats the disadvantage..

Hm, as its difficult or not, I really keep my fingers crossed.. :)
Really inovative theme.. Maybe you inspired me in spite of that Im not fan of tatoos at all..

Try something unique, which could represent you, your opinions, your state or something..

E.g. the logo of DGF, if Shirow permits it.. :D

No offense to DG, but thats not really what defines me or my opinions.

Problem is that my opinions and state are much to temporary.

So in this respect try to point it - your changeability - e.g. chameleon, transformer or some 4-seasons motive..

I was thinking of using the 8 pointed star from my Avatar as tattoo.
