<sigh>

All my friends give me a rash of shit because I've never seen *this* movie or *that* movie. Boondock Saints is one of those movies on my list of movies that I *should* have seen by now.

there's a lot of movies one should have seen, but then does not
i can never bring myself to watch "2001: A Space Odyseey"

DG-con, is that like unicorns and fairies? Nice to believe in but doesn't exist?

You thinking about leaving? May I ask why?

*lol* i'm going to be a pixie!
i actually saw this amazing (ugly) dress downtown i am going to buy
my friend grudgingly admitted that it looks pretty good on me compared to just on the hanger

as to answer your question drew, i just feel that kingston itself is getting too small and i have been enough years in my current job to do another switch and try something else - still scientific for sure

Good enough reason, not that you ever really need one, I suppose. Change is the spice of life, or something like that.

I'm getting burned out where I'm at too. I haven't figured out what to do about it. I guess thats why I always fantasize about moving to New Zealand for a few years - it's so drastic! I've actually familiarized myself with their immigration policies.

Or better, quitting my job and buying a backpack and bumming it around the world working odd jobs here and there to make it to the next spot. No itinerary, no direction, just wandering.

sounds cool, although not my kind of flavor with the whole backpacking around
for a short time yes, but i cannot see myself doing that for an extended period of time (i like my luxuries too much, not to mention i wont be able to lug all my cats with me)
q;

of all the countries people want to go see (traveling to thailand, australia, japan, etc) new zealand is the only one peaking my interest as well, although very expensive to go to and very remote being almost at the end of the world (or as we'd say "am arsch der welt" [i'm sure you can either figure it out or get some translation webpage])

Yeah, I'd have to abandon my cat too. Fortunately I know good homes she could stay at while I was gone - if I ever left. I've been wrestling with minimalization, and the backpacking idea suits me, I suppose.  I'm moving again for the third time in a year next month, so another chance to get rid of old crap. At this rate I'm going to be living out of a backback anyway!

LMAO @ am arsch der welt

I wanted to do the whole backpack around the world thing for a while. And I kinda regret never doing it. Now I cant do it anymore though, I cant waste much more time or Ill loose my right on student loans and stuff and I would never be able to do college or uni.

Besides, backpacking through Australia now seems a lot less attractive then it did 4 years ago. Berlin is my new target, and its probably a lot easier to achieve as well.

Any reason you couldn't do it after finishing school?

No I could do it after Im done with school. But then what would be the point? Im 25 when Im done, and hopefully I got both a job and a home in Berlin at that time. Why give that all up to backpack for several months at the other end of the world? And it remains a question to see if Im even capable of affording that.

And yeah, like I said, I dont really feel the need anymore to do it. Ill still go to Australia and America and Canada and god knows where else some day, just not to backpack.

Yeah, I see what you mean. It's hard to establish yourself somewhere just to uproot and go wander about for awhile. I'm very much where you'd be at that point, being 28, just out of school, and ready to establish a career. Only I think you'd have a lot more invested by going to Berlin and finishing school there than I did here.
