One of my favorite Front Line Assembly tracks is really not their typical work. It's Providence from the Everything Must Perish single. The FLA guest vocalist was Jenifer McLaren.

Does anyone know of any similar tracks from any normally "industrial" type groups? I really like the mix of the operatic vocals with the industrial type background.

I know about groups like Nightwish and really like them but that's Symphonic Metal with is obviously outside of the usual DG genres.

ps: This isn't in the music db at DG btw. I'm not sure what the video portion of the youtube post I linked to is all about but it had the best audio of any of the posts I found there.

I know Reaper has a few songs which future Operatic/gothic vocals. Not really like that FLA song though.

Thanks, listening to them now! Rhapsody has their entire catalog under the rapper "Un Reaper" so I had to dig a bit for them. :-|

You don't need to go far... the track Angelicus from the Delerium Album "Nuages du Monde" is probably pretty close to what you're after...

There's always Dead Can Dance, but I guess they're kind of in their own separate genre...

There's the beginning of Wolfsheim's Hurting for the first time

I'm pretty sure I know more, I just can't remember which ones...

For some reason I feel the need to interject this into the thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry-xsbppvCk. It's not what you've asked for, but damn cool scene from The 5th Element.

Z Prochek's Point Blank is probably not along the lines of what you are looking for. I'm really hooked on that song right now; so, I'm going to suggest it anyway.

And of course to add something else irrelevant - I found this:  Repo! The Genetic Opera; I guess this is a scene, or a trailer. Looks like it might be interesting.

And on the subject of Sarah Brightman, there's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B65CFK8YNuE&feature=related More of a goth/ethereal/nightwishy feel to it, but I liked it.

I'll post more useless stuff as I dredge it up. :)

@SwarmOfCats: I need listen to Die Form again, it's been awhile.

@Creepster: Thanks for the Qntal suggestion. I hadn't seen them before. Their newer tracks seem to be more acoustic although they usually seem to some traditional sounds in the mix somewhere.

@Drewthetexan: I looked for a 5th element sound track just so I could get that track and I have both the soundtrack and DVD for Repo! :-) Thanks for the Sarah Brightman, I like Nightwish's stuff so that's great for when I'm in the mood for that too. Z Prochek sounds good, I'll look into that.

Thanks for the suggestions!
