Was using StreamFurious free app on Droid 1 but recently it went all wonky after an update.

I wrote my own, you can dL it here :

Its kinda lame on the UI, but it works without having the main application open. You'll need droid 2.2 os.
Brief overview:
Play : Starts Background Player
Stop : Stop Background Player
Refresh : Get currently playing song. This also autofires every 210 secs as long as the Application is open.

Unless you rooted your phone, it's up to your carrier to push updates, not all models on all carriers get 2.2 .

Hey guys, I found a stupid mistake I made where the media player continues to keep on buffering even tho you hit the stop button. Which means the the stream is active even tho you dont hear any audio. This prolly why the silly thing was crashing on me last nite when was driving around dropping people off. OOPS! I prolly should have spent a few more hours testing. So a fix for that is up now. Also in the latest version - I think I fixed Salah's parse package issue so this should work better on 2.1 devices
- I did some organisation of the code so it ought to be a bit smarter about memory usage now.
- I added some stuff to support screen orientation so you can hold it vertically or horizonally
- Refresh is automagic now
- the whole UI a bit laid out better is now relative to the size of your screen. (meaning BIGGER buttons!!!)
Next steps, - some sort of notification popup of song changes while playing and not in the application
- some sort of car mode
- some sort of homescreen control/infowidget
- ripping metadata out of the icecast (better automagic refresh)
- song history listing
