So, years and years ago (like 6 years) I found a cover of Rollergirl's Superstar by Z-Prochek. It was the most amazing thing! The synths were like honey and the vocals were like the fist of Moses.
Unfortunately, I lost it. I also see no mention of it on Z-Prochek's website, discogs, the internet, etc. Did Z-Prochek really cover it? Did they ever publish it, or did it get released on some compilation or anything?
I uhh, would have posted this in the "Name That Song" forum but since I already know the name somehow that felt wrong.

Turns out there was a "butterfly" remix. hereDunno if that's it, but still worth listening to. Edit: According to last.fm, it existed. So you aren't off-base.Edited again: So I found a reference to the superstar cover on VNV Nation forum post from february 2003, here, post #32, so it predates that. Z Prochek doesn't have it on their website, so I sent them an email but I don't expect to hear anything back since the website hasn't been updated in 4 years, and I can't tell if they are even around anymore.

Yeah, the butterfly mix is different. The cover I heard was very God Module-ish, same style of vocals and very heavy and deliberate. The vocals were re-done and really noisy, with a male vocalist. The cover was excellent, with top production values, if my memory hasn't been too distorted with time. I found this: http://www.tampaforums.com/forums/free-4-all/industrial-covers-tons-them-128401/ which mentions something about the Assemblage 23 old website, dunno what that's about. It's not on archive.org either. This blog post has a mention, and a broken link (concert poster NSFWish): http://johndeniac.blogspot.com/2003_01_26_archive.htmlI also found this: http://mp3.de/trendschmiede/genre/band/060400/88227/110/1/20 -- On the 20th I emailed the guy who mentioned it there, no reply yet though. Unfortunately, there's also the possibility that it was mislabeled and all of us got it from the same place. Like, maybe it wasn't Z-Prochek but someone thought it was and labeled it such, and we all found it in the same location.

Rendaw found a Free download here, doesn't appear to be pirated or anything: http://mp3.de/trendschmiede/genre/band/060400/88227/31_76761Interesting. I wonder if this is one that Z Prochek wishes would just go away. I like it.
