Combi played couple nights ago in a small basemen club here in Brisbane (Australia) First support was some metal industrial band called devilution or something and I heard one song and guessed they really liked Slipknot.

Second support was Bitch Brigade.. Local australian duo. He on programming and she on vocals. I had heard the album the previous month so didnt expect anything. I wasn't disappointed. I got exactly what i expected. They were terrible. he was to cool to be cool and stood in front of the keyboard not even swaying, he looked bored to be there. She was simply atrocious. Tone deaf, obscenely thin and occasionally get a attack of "art" and move her hands in a goth trance like state for a minute. Just awful.

While we were watching Bitch Brigade ( who apparently will do birthday parties) the two drummers from the CC band stood beside us, looked at BB on stage, looked at each other, shook there heads and wandered off.

Combi was outstanding. Small crowd of about 300 in a little room two live drummers, the keyboard/programmer and alot of face paint. 90 minute set, 2 song encore with extended versions of This Shit and Never Surrender.
The stage was about 2 foot above the floor and Andy was front and center. No barriers and he was cool about photos to the point during the voxless bits he would grab someones camera, take a photo of himself, take a photo of the crowd and hand the camera back.

Vocals were outstanding, music was great and that has a lot to do with the venue.. The two people i went with met one of the drummers and were invited to the dressing room for photos. My buddy has CC logo Tattoos on his feet and Andy was happy to have photos with the feet and was apparently very cool about it all. Considering my buddy was to pick him up in a 63 Thunderbird but for the promoter being a prick he chatted to Andy about classic American cars for about ten minutes and then the decided to leave.

So a big night all in all. Money well spent and my two friends met an idol of theirs.

Sounds really nice.

I saw CombiChrist live as foreband to Rammstein back in Novemeber 2009. They (Rammstein) were in the middle of their European Tour back then. Really loved some of my favourite CC hits like Blut Royale.

CC were supposed to support NIne Inch Nails for one of their tours here ( which I cant remember) but didnt... Probably just as well as even though I followed the tour around Australia ( its not stalking if you dont get caught) I think CC would've blown them away....

Given the choice I'd see CC every time.

First time I saw NIN (around 2005 or so IIRC) I really enjoyed the show.

Second time I saw NIN (2007 perhaps?) I was less impressed. They seemed to have not progressed in any way, performance was a bit perfunctory and I wasn't particularly enamoured with the album at the time.

Third time I had an opportunity to see NIN (last year I think) I passed. Shame as Gary Numan turned up on stage and I would have enjoyed that bit :(. Must see Gary Numan one of these days...

I've seen CC 3 times now and I have to say I have enjoyed every concert of theirs a great deal. Simply excellent live band and so uplifting and energising to watch.

I concur with DJ Wolf - I'd choose CC every time.

Now if only IOC would come to Europe...I'd love to see them live. Think they split just as I discovered this scene :(

I was fortunate enough to see Gary Numan here live in April I think. Having been a fan of his ( and up til recently having all Tubeway Army and solo on vinyl ) I can highly recommend seeing him if you get the chance.

Having taken to industrial leanings the last couple albums are IMO very good. He added a few of the older tracks in the live set but they were dirtied up a little to match the sound and style of Pure and sp forth.

Next gig here is at Easter when Grendel supported by Nactmahr play the same space as CC and mid year sees KMFDM which I am really looking forward to..

I'm really liking the new Nachtmahr CD, makes me wonder if they will play a show near me.  I'll have to check their schedule.

Combichrist is really fun live, the music and attitude is perfect for a live show.  When I saw them last time around, both of the opening acts Aesthetic Perfection and Dismantled got up on stage with them for the last song and everybody lined up along the front of the stage chanting the chorus for This shit will fuck you up.  Looked like they were having the time of their lives.  =)

That sounds like an awesome show!

Yeah, I still really want to see CombiChrist live someday. But first, Nachtmahr. They should be coming to Utrecht in March or April or something. I also think they where doing a release party show next weekend in Utrecht, but I have to study for my exams :(

And yes, the new Nachtmahr cd is awesome!
