Who do I get to thank for playing my request so quickly?? Things like that get me all excited.....and yes you can take that anyway you want and run with it. Even when I went to the club I used to DJ at myself...I could hardly get the house DJ to play any at all. So who do I give *hugs* to? Of course...if you prefer a whip...that can be arranged. MWAHAHAHA!!

That would be Shirow, the Electronic Colossus who put this amazing sight together.  And yes, I have put in requests where they have come back almost immediately and it is certainly cool when that happens.  Yet sometimes, patience is also a virtue.

requests cannot be played immediately on DG due to some radio/streaming regulations

i know it has been mentioned NUMEROUS times, but i am too lazy to go through the search function of the forums to give you example posts

but since i have the memory of an elephant (for anything annoying and redundant) i can tell you that you DO HAVE TO WAIT until your music database request is played, and that can be varying from immediately to like the whole day!
and then you miss it anyway

The federally regulated limitations are detailed in the legal section of the website.

Back when the queue was visible, and if one happened to listen all the time and be astute enough to observe when requests were likely to be pulled, in theory, if the queue was empty or had one existing request, one could manage to get a request in and played within a few minutes. Otherwise, it's straight up luck. :)

In theory, you could still do that if you figured out the queue rotation. Although, now, since I don't show the queue publically anymore, you can't count how many requests are pending ;)

I figured that it was just a matter of luck when that Joy Division cover was played.  I saw the name and requested it and it came on like on the next song played.  Luck, circumstance, or karma.  I dont know.  It just made my moment for that day as it came on so fast and was exactly what I was hoping it was going to be.

What will really tickle your pickle is the day you think about a song, and it comes on - without requesting it. Now that's good karma.

Yes of coarse, no contest there that that is one of the ultimate right ons for good Karma.  But like I have said before.  Sometimes when you tune in and the track that is currently playing is about the most perfect beat you would want to hear at that moment in time.  I become overwhelmed by the rythm as it is playing and then that becomes my new favorite track untill next time.
