I wanted to let you guys know a bit of detail behind what's going on with the main page.

A few days ago, the box DG was running on got compromised. I don't know the specifics of how, but it was being used for a botnet among other things. I quickly found this out when I saw 70mbps coming out of it.

In dealing with the situation, I ended up wiping the box clean and installing Ubuntu. I kept a backup of the site, but I've been thinking for a long time that the DG webpage is an abject failure - it's a blog format for a page that doesn't provide news.

So, I took this as a chance to force myself to revamp it like I've been meaning to for months. The new DG will be less of a 'omg, I added this new album' ad infinitum and more of an informational portal to provide all the requested information about the stream. On one page, you'll be able to see recent songs, recently added albums, recent forum topics and much more dynamic, useful information. I'll only dedicate a very small box to my own personal ramblings.

Anyway, I thought I should share some of this info with the people that bother to read this thing :)

Sorry to hear about the box being compromised, that explains what happened to the stream the other day.  Your right about the front page, it was pretty boring.  The 'omg, I added this new album' ad infinitum probably got to you after having to explain that the album in the song request thread was already on the stream.  I tend to check the front page every morning.  I'm excited to see this new page.  Any idea when the unveiling will be?

Thank you for all the work you do keeping this stream going.  It is greatly appreciated.  Is there any way for you to get credit from us buying albums linked off your page?

No idea yet, but I am spending all my free time working on it. If you buy an album off the front page that links to Amazon, I make a few cents, so that helps :) I would guess I'll have it ready in a beta form in no more than 2 weeks.

Here's a quick look at the progress on the site so far.. I think I'll be able to open the doors in a few days. Won't have every feature ready, but it'll be usable :)

That looks nice, professional.  I like it.  It should draw more people to the home page.  I got a couple new albums I want to buy.  I am just waiting for your site to come back up so you get the credit.

That's pretty hot. It looks slick and professional, without looking like one of those overly busy and gaudy sites.

Nice new site! Some suggestions; links in the "Listen" window should open in a new window, not the same. The same should apply to the album links on that same page, but also the front page. Makes it IMO a little more easy to use the album links. Internal links, like the links to the forum, could keep opening in the same window, that makes more sense.
