What's up with Skyrim? I want to buy it for my ps3 but the weirdo at Game Stop was telling me that the PC version is way better (how would he know, it didn't even come out yet ;-)) I'm not a gaming expert but I'm pretty sure if I buy the PC version my computer will explode :-P
I didn't even know Skyrim was coming out. I was there to buy Portal 2. Always in for a surprise I guess. I'm usually a couple months behind on games though.

Hey JennyH, if this helps, here are the MINIMUM recommended specs from the PC version box
************** ENHANCED FOR "multi-core" OS - Windows 7/Vista/XP CPU - Dual Core 2Ghz Memory - 2GB RAM, 7GB hard drive space Video Card - DirectX 9.0c Compliant, 512MB RAM **************
Honestly I'm thinking about the 360 version rather than the PC version of the game. I'm sure on either console or PC you're in for a treat. It is an Elder Scrolls game after all.

I was there yesterday afternoon and the preorders were sold out for ps3. They only had a couple PC ones. But with recommended specs for PC, my current CPU would probably come right out of the case and slit my throat. Um no... I'll just wait and find a preowned Skyrim. I had to get a new game though because right now it sounds like there's a war going on in my house with everyone playing that damn Battlefield 3 game. So annoying.

I got it for the PS3. It may not be as great as the PC version but it is still fun. ebgames/gamestop are always saying they are sold out, they want you to pre order from them next time you buy a game. I have never had a problem finding the game I want at some other store. Game Stop tells me they are all sold out and I can walk across the street to toys r us and pick up the game.

Do you have an older PS3? I do, and the mandatory install for Skyrim is 5.5Gb. Is this sizeable enough for me to worry about? and how is it that the install for PS3 is 5.5Gb and Xbox 360 is only 3.8Gb? All of my other games don't really steal that large of a hard drive portion though. haha

The PS3 drive reads slower and needs a sizeable install to decrease loading times. Also since this is a major blockbuster title, my guess is that Bethesda didn't do the usual, "lets design this on the 360 then port it to PS3 to save money", that a lot of developers do. The extra GB's of required installation space is probably due to better graphics and sound as well.

I have a first gen PS3 but I got the 60GB version. If you have the 20GB version it would be harder to fit. I did have to go through and delete a lot of the Playstation network download games to make room. I can always download them again if I want them.

UHHHGG. Im about to throw BF3 out the window. I can't stand that game, it's the same stuff over and over. I'd rather play Bioshock2 24/7.
