Hello to all,

After seven albums and over 30 compilation appearances I have decided to end Fektion Fekler. For our true fans I would like to thank you for all the years of support you have shown us. It meant a lot to me so many of you wrote letters proclaiming your love of what my brother and I produced. Words cannot say how proud we are to have such a loyal fan base and the years of encouragement you have shown us. Thank you.

I would also like to thank all the labels (Pendragon, Artoffact, Out of Line, Black Flames, Bright Green, Static Sky, Klangdynamic, etc) who took a chance on us and released our, not so "popular" form of industrial music. Not only did they believe in what we were doing, but also offered support financially, as well as personally. The Fektion Fekler story started back in 1989 and 2007 will see its conclusion.

In that time I have met many people who took the time to say how they loved what we were doing, give me a pat on the back and even bought me a few drinks. It meant a lot to John and I.

Very few people actually realize the amount of work and money that goes into releasing an album. It is by far one of the hardest and most rewarding situations you can get yourself into. Any band will relate to fighting in the studio, waking up with your headphones blaring on your ears for the last few hours because you feel asleep listening to whatever track you were mixing, dreaming about that same track till you hate it, cursing at equipment and the ever popular alienating yourself in the studio for months on end, relationships start to suffer.

But in the end it is all for the glory of music. I am a true believer that music is medicine. Its power is universal and the truly talented musicians will tell you it can be a life saving talent.

Most of my fan mail started out the same way; "Your music helped me at a bad time in my life"....

To know our music helped others through a difficult time in their life means a lot to us. Its one of the main reasons we wrote and released albums.

So thank you all for the many years you have stood by us. It makes putting together our "Best of Fektion Fekler" album that much more heartfelt.

I would also like to thank Klangdynamik Records in Europe who will be releasing our very last Fektion Fekler album....support this young label and make them a success in the scene.

Our official last album will be a "Best of Fektion Fekler" (title pending). We are going to jam pack the CD with as much music as we can. The artwork will be done by the talented Daryl Litts who has worked with us for many years and is by far one of the most talented guys around. The album will contain linear notes about each track; when it was written, why it was written, how it was written and some little interesting fact about the song. Yes, all of our songs have some weird story behind them. The album will be the best parts of Fektion Fekler....We know you will love it....

In addition, we will do a onetime show here in Austin to end our long career in this scene and go out with our friends and family surrounding us. Since we have never played live as Fektion Fekler, this will be an emotional show for us....we are very excited and hope some of you can make it to Austin to see us go out with a bang (possibly for a DVD release)....date will be posted on our website....

On one final note. John and I will still work on music, but separately. I will probably engineer most of his music for his band "The Boy Who Saved Yesterday"

I will continue writing songs and will release it under a new name (to be annouced) in a few months. I will do all the music and vocals. I hope to have my solo album released by mid 2008. To give you an idea of how that will sound, think of Fektion Fekler more softer moments. A combination of electronics and organic instruments.

The Fektion Fekler site will remain as will Synthcere Records.....

After 18 years of working with my brother and producing a lot of music together, we feel its time we see what we can do on our own. I am excited for the future and feel this will be a very creative period in my life.

Pre-orders will start in late August at the Synthcere Records site. Only 500 CDs will be printed here in the states (Synthcere Records) and 500 in Europe (Klangdynamic Records)....

Thank's to all

Robert
