Hey, And One has some really sweet songs hidden in there!
If VNV Nation were german -they- would be the worst band. I'll never forgive them for perverting the beautiful EBM scene into futurepop. *grumpy old fart*

I share completely your opinion about VNV nation ;-) ! I have never loved this group. Too precious.

How did they "pervert" EBM into futurepop?? EBM still exists as a seperate thing. In my view at least. VNV shaped futurepop, along with other bands, and futurepop got more popular than EBM. VNV never tried to hide the fact that they're a rather mainstream band and would like to be as popular as possible. Thusly, I respect them for being honest AND for making great music, despite sounding so poppy. They've got nothing on Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Absolute Body Control and the likes, but always succeed in making me have a hell of a good time whenever I see them live. What did happen was that the scenes got mixed, but not the music in itself. But you know that. I personally don't mind the "scene" nowadays is so mixed, it expands my horizons. When you go to a "black" party where I live, you'll most likely hear Combichrist, Grendel, Winterkälte,... but also VNV, Project Pitchfork, Apoptygma Berzerk and even The Cure, Christian Death and The Sisters of Mercy. And I wouldn't want it any other way really.

isn't that half the point of this style of music???
thats like saying "i love black metal..but damn, i wish they'd stop screaming"
or "hey i like ice cream, but why is this crap cold?!"
hmm..

Hot ice cream would be awesome. Imagine it had the same consistency and flavor, it would be perfect for playing in the snow and staying warm.

im trying to figure out if thats a great idea or im just really tired.
All i can picture in my mind is a big meatball on a cone.
which in its own way is kind of cool i guess.
my point was though that monotone voices are good :) yes
