Angels on Acid Friday. God Module next Friday. SITD the next Saturday. Angelspit the next Thursday. It's a good month.
Im strongly thinking about moving myself to country, where are so many industrial and industrial-related concerts in a row. There havent been ANY industrial concert yet.. My coutry is still too "rustical"... Some peasants everywhere you go.. No intelligence only "borderless" faith.. Dammit!

Hope it was fun, a couple of friends who attended the one here in L.A. were very disappointed... i saw god module live in hamburg in 2004 and wasnt too impressed with their live performance so i guess no biggie not just because of the price ... q; unless they seriously up'ed their game

Same went on for the Apop show ... Live sounded horrible, (no joke, i could only tell what song it was because of the pre-recorded samplers on the background) Plus, when the new songs came up, pretty much half the people walked to the downstairs floor... My hopes are still very up for the A23 show tho, (dont care how they sound, they always give a good show)

The god module show was maybe worth the $15 I paid to get in the door. It was not worth the 3 hour drive and lost time from work the next day. There wasn't much of a crowd either, maybe 80 or so at most.
Bad sound mixing at the Apop show?

what i did not like about the apop set i have seen in toronto was the almost desperate attempt to make it *real* using exclusively guitars, drum set, bass, etc ... like watching nickelback i agree with berger stahl that songs were only recognizable by the samples still being played (most memorable example was "kathy's song") personally i think industrial/ebm bands trying to change their style that much from recorded to live just are not honest to themselves, after all if you'd really want to implement actual instruments then do it with the recording already

Oh wow. Ok, that makes more sense then.
Thanks for the heads up you two. I would have gone and seen them this weekend; I think perhaps I won't now.

go and see them if you do not mind spending the money or time i would feel bad if you missed out and instead would have liked their ... uhm ... thing some people prefer the less clean sound of a live show (personally, i'd prefer going to a life show where all songs are played from a high quality recorded tape/cd/mp3 and they'd only mix in some extra synths and the live singing ... even then the studio recording might be better for some singers ....) maybe get a third opinion (or more), sylemX was at the apop show i saw as well

Apparently tickets are $10. Dismantled and The Anix will be playing too. Anyone heard of the Anix? Edit: Just checked out The Anix's myspace page. Sounds like music that teenage girls with self-esteem problems would like. I'm definitely going to the show now!

Ya, as creeps said, even if is a bad show, at least see it on your own eyes,.... if all else, you will have bragging rights for those that miss it.
for the Apop show it wasnt even Bad sound mixing, is exactly as creeps described it,... band trying to perform a song with live instruments = Fail
Covenant tried this and somewhat sounded good VNV complete failure (vocals overpowered the music) plus ronan kept changing vocal tones Icon of Coil, Simply amazing (sound wise, one of the best live performances i've ever seen) Funker Vogt, was not as good as i'd hoped but still sounded decent (for being a live performance anyways, altho their clothing style left a lot to be desired)
Plus for $10, i'd go even if the music was bad :)

Just remember that before you try anything stupid :P As for how you play live, I dont know. I like the fact they at least try to make their music real on stage. As long as you dont overdo it I might add. Live drums and programming maybe. And live vocals of course.

saw icon of coil twice performing live, and both times it was a huge blast! i'd go to one of their concerts immediately other memorable events were DIVE (most minimal show i have ever seen), decoded feedback (as mentioned before) and esplendor geometrico unknown enough that only a few people were there, so it felt almost like going to a bday part ... nevertheless it was much fun
