seems to be a bug where when someone requests a song, and their name shows up as being the person who requested it, their name stays there and doesn't go away when the next song title refreshes (upper right corner of the page where the song being played is listed)
apologies in advance if this has been pointed out already.

I've also come across situations where my request was removed from the queue but the song never played-- and one time I bumped someone else off the queue whose song never played.

today (jan 24th) i requested a song (grains of sound "surrender") which didnt get played but i was told that i can only request a song per day, the whole time before i checked it was still pending
at previous times the songs requested did play, so im not sure how it is triggered that sometimes it just vanishes into some sort of nirvana and sometimes not

It seems to me that if a "special" show like regenradio or fresh ammo is played, qeued songs can get lost. No idea if that was the case here, just throwing in a brainfart.

Please list the specific songs that don't play, it's probably a filename problem.

btw this happened more than once with this particular song, i requested it 3 times now and listened to dg all the time while the request was still pending (as told by the dg home page) but then it changed ot the red font text that i already had a request without grains of sound being played maybe i misunderstand the red font text and it just means the request was accepted but still did not play as of yet, but will still be playing later?

The red text means it's been put into the queue and will play within minutes. Thanks for the song name, I will check it out. Mostly it is something like it is listed in the DB as 'Grains of Sound - Surrender' but the filename has a typo in it. For the request system to work, the ID3 name and the filename have to match, 99.9% do but there are a few exceptions. I'll check into this one. Keep listing any others here you find.

At the beginning of the month, the first five or so songs I requested on a daily basis came through flawlessly, then one day it didn't matter which song I requested; none would play.
The first request that fizzled on me was Dupont: Why must I die?
Others I tried were: Cut Rate Box: Enigma Kontrast: 80er Jahre Yavin 4: We Have Electric Sheep
I did notice that Cut Rate Box's text doesn't appear properly.
Thanks for your help!

This is also now fixed. I am looking into the other issues. Thanks for your bug reports.

I think a lot of the issues were due to me doing a case sensitive match for song names/filenames. I didn't realize so many of them were disparate.
The matching for requests is now case sensitive on the server side and this should clear up a lot of the issues you've been seeing. Please let me know if you continue to have problems with the request system (noting the specific files in question as well as the specific issue you experience)

Not really a bug I suppose, but it looked like that a later queued request was played before the first request. It's at least a little unexpected and can be a little annoying if you are waiting for your song :)
