You must be grabbing a cached file, it has changed to sub.digitalgunfire.com:8080/subscriber

You can manually enter that or try clearing your cache and clicking the listen link again. Delete the existing iTunes entry also, not sure if it keeps it when you open a new file.

Great, glad to hear it - did it just prompt you for authentication?

yep.  that was the first time it asked.

I'm surprised how much better the 192 stream sounds over the 128, wasn't expecting such a noticeable difference.  sounds much fuller.

Cool, it's been filling up, I'm happy people are noticing the difference.

I'm running a bunch of SRS Labs tools, so the difference is a bit less noticeable. The sound does carry a bit further, and the low-end is a bit wider though.

So, every time I try to use the WMP 192kbps stream, I get a 'subscriber.download' file that loads to my desktop, and won't open in WMP. I don't (and will not) use WinAmp or iTunes. Any thoughts?

Which version of WMP is it?

You can try doing 'Open Location' or 'Open URL' in WMP and entering http://sub.digitalgunfire.com:8080 as the URL - that should let you manually connect.

Tried that, now it tells me I don't have the correct codec. Using wmp10, although an attempt at installing 11 failed as it seems to think 10 is more advanced.

That's very strange, as it is just streaming MP3, exactly the same as the regular stream. Can you listen to the 128k stream through your installation of WMP?

You can try going to http://sub.digitalgunfire.com:8080/auth.xsl and authenticating there, I'm not sure if it will work or not but it's worth a shot. If it still doesn't work, let me know.

*stuck at work*

but yeah, cannot connect to the subscriber stream either
however it does seem to go through songs though because artists change over time (for me started with front 242 - 7rain, then some electro synthetic rebellion and seize)

Practice is when things work, and no one knows why.
Here we combine theory and practice.
Nothing works and no one knows why.

Should be fixed now, not sure what was wrong with it but I restarted it and it seems OK now.
