I am aware it's called World At War before anyone starts to be picky.
For anyone that has played it i have had this argument with many people since this game came out of which is better?
personally i believe the new one is alot better, the maps are bigger and the story line is more realistic as it has happened, but alot of people are complaining "the guns are shit". Seriously? i mean it's not the gun it's the player, for anyone who plays it online will understand this.
to not be biased i want more peoples views which one is better?

4 was absolutly better then 5.
First of all, I see 5 as a shitty rip off. Squad mates dying? Seen it in 4. Except in 4 I felt somewhat attached to Captain Price and Gaz, while in 5 I didnt even know who the hell they where. For me it was just a random NPC getting killed. Big deal. The part with the plane. Did it in 4 only a AC130 is way more awesome then that piece of junk you fly in 5. Heh, even the inbetween movie with the focus on the weapons of that plane was the same as in 4. Shit, even some achievements are the same. How unoriginal can you be?
Also, this game is either ridiculously easy (on normal) or unbeatable (at the highest difficulty). 4 was a lot better balanced out and it required some skill to finish at its highest difficulty. But it was possible. When playing 5 it had more to do with luck then with skill. I stopped playing halfway through on its highest difficulty because I cant stand games that require luck to complete.
Then there is this annoying nade spamming. I duck behind cover and suddely 4 grenades land exactly on my head. Thats not realistic, its not fun, its just incredibly annoying. Yeah 4 had it as well. Only never 4-6 grenades on me at the same time. It was again, much more balanced out.
As for the story? What story, its just pretty much random battles during World War 2. No terrorists getting hold of nukes. No uprising in the middle east. Just shooting nazis or Japanese guys. You know the end already. The good guys win. While in 4 it had a few major plot twists. Like when that nuke went off and you actually died. Or when you where looking from the eyes of the soon to be executed President of that middle eastern country? Thats new, thats awesome and that drags me into the game.
As for the weapons. Sorry, I just think that fully automatic assault rifles beat ww2 rifles at any time.
If it was me revieuwing this game, it would have gotten a 4 or 5. Because thats how unoriginal and unbalanced this game is.

To break out of the subject in a way...I thougt that the 5th game was like Cod2 witch I love Cod2 had a wage story but wery nice dialogs.
The big things who sepparetes those games from each other is...there's no feelings in the guns in cod 5.
There's only one dude in the whole game who had a line worth remembering "aim for the fuel tanks on his back....hehehe"
And the game have less destructeble terrain than cod 2 I mean I found a couple of pots standing around....nothing happend when I shot at them at point blank.
Then we have those open doors you can't go throu seriusly what the hell.
And why did they do my shotguns so worthless...they dosn't even sound good any more...like a firecracker:(
And to go back to the main topic Cod 4 is better than cod 5.
But I've read your post...I haven't tried it online, I don't dare to.

The nazi zombie minigame on call of duty world at war is quite fun, but overall I agree with the rest of you. Number 4 was so much better story wise. Modern warfare 2 will be out at the end of the year.
