So, I've noticed an overwhelming majority of folks in the G/I scene that I've met are at least tangentially involved in IT at some level.  At least the older crowd is anyway.

I'm wondering if this endemic of the Dallas crowd only, or all over.  I'm not talking about the youngins so much, just the corporate goths.

I'm in engineering, but then I've always claimed to be a tourist.  How about the rest of you?

As a complete outsider I'm curious, what other types of goths are out there?

Hamburger-flipping goth?
Sandwich artist goth?
Checkout counter goth?
Barristagoth?

I'm just black on the inside, my outside is shiny and manicured nowadays. So I guess I'm a hidden goth or something.

Lol, i'm big into industrial and work for a school district and am assigned my own campus where I maintain roughly around 300 computers and 3 servers. So yeah, I work IT. I also don't fit in very well there, at least regarding my musical tastes as it seems everyone there is into the Top 40 stuff (Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Kanye...) or into Mexican music which I can't stand. This is in Deep South Texas BTW.

I teach philosophy at the university level in Denver. I did get to teach a course on the Philosophy of Horror where we read Lovecraft and watched horror movies. But I've tamed the appearance, short hair now, no longer dyed black, tattoos stay covered and facial piercings stay out.

A rather generic term for people in the G/I scene who have a career or regular job and more or less blend into the corporate world during the week.

I'm more into industrial myself; don't know if goths and rivetheads don't get along. One of my best friends claims to be a rivethead, but he's GAF.  I think he just doesn't want to admit it for some reason.  Apparently back in the day, the more you denied being goth, the more goth you were.  Dunno.
