Here is my quandary- i know a remix of the original 1980s transformers theme song was known as "Gigas - Transformers theme (Decepticon [or Deceptacon] remix).mp3" back in the days of Napster and Kazaa, HOWEVER in all my researching i have not found any info that connects the old techno group Gigas with the song. They had listings on mp3.com and garageband.com but never listed the song as one of theirs.
on youtube these days a search for "decepticon remix" comes up with the song now attributed to slipknot member sid wilson, aka dj starscream. i find this unlikely since i had the song back in 2000/2001 whereas his remix discography starts in 2003 and no where is he officially connected to the song. i hear he was DJ-ing from 1992 but who knows? actually, that is the real question- who knows? that remix is my favorite techno song, has been for years now, and i'm really interested in finding more work by this artist.
Regarding the Gigas attribution, i read on "
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=8a0906800e16ffd51be2d2fda1a23c4c&threadid=37275" that Shirow from this site had an interview with Bryan Kato from Gigas and it was published here on this site, but that was december 26, 2000. it's not archived through internetarchive.org either. Shirow, any ideas about this one?
Here is all the info i've tracked down about the band Gigas. The members seem to be listed now in a band called RUMyLoveChild.
