A lot of us DG listeners also listen to a lot of music that is close to the stuff played on DG, but doesn't fit the profile. I'm starting a thread where people can suggest such music for the other listeners to check out and expand their horizon...   and maybe one day DG Extreme will be launched, and then there's so much easier to set up an initial playlist (from some of the stuff at least:)

Anyway, starting off with:

- Tympanik Audio - a label with lotsa cool projects (noise, IDM and such)
  Some specific artists are
  - Stendeck
  - Ad-ver-sary (music is free!, downloadable from web page - which annoys me, cause I just bougth the latest one on iTunes)
  - Autoclav1.1
  - Black Lung

- the new projects of Gary Zon (Dismantled): Aerodrone and No.Not.Never - I'm not too fond of them, but worth checking out... (or maybe not)

Keef Baker - Light City  (not too sure about genre - but melodic noise/IDM'ish stuff - I'm no good at classifying these things)

Dälek - Gutter Tactics - it's HipHop with IDM/noise influences...   (warning for those whose religion forbids visits to myspace - this is a myspace link)

Rainer Bloss - Drive Inn III (Rainer Bloss is a member of AlphaVille, this is his instrumental side-projects... )

Simian Mobile Disco - Attack Decay Sustain Release
(kinda mainstream techno/electronica stuff - again, I'm no good at caregorizing these things)

New[Input]Noise - it's a collection of noisy music - nice for checking out some artists...

Deadmau5 - Random Album Title - It's mainstream progressive dance/trance - selected album of the year by FutureMusic (sorry for dragging stuff that you would hear on Clubbers Guide to Ibiza into this forum, but it's kinda good)

Maybe you will have to be the CEO of DG Extreme xeno, it seems to get suggested fairly often but I just don't have the time to start up a whole new channel right now. Seems like the demand is out there though..

You guys could partner up, each running your own stream. I'm not such a fan of harder stuff but I would at least check out a DG Extreme station, xeno.

Also: it's very refreshing to see a well-thought out and well-researched post :)

heh, the "DG Xtreme" parenthesis wasn't meant as the main point of the post, just a random side-note
from my part - this wasn't meant to try to push such a channel (or to start one) - only mentioned it because I've heard it mentioned on more than one occation, and thought it was actually planned and just not realized...

The point of the post was that the industrial scene right now is very closed/strongly defined, and if one wanna try to find stuff outside of the "industrial mainstream", it's very time consuming to find anything at all...   so the idea was primary to have a thread filled with links for people who wanna expand their industrial'ish horizon...

I guess this is more a post for the off-topic forum though...

Yeah, I understood the point of the post and I appreciate it. Just got me thinking about a more eclectic DG channel and was thinking out loud about what it would take to run it I guess :)

Another recommendation:

Vitalic - Flashmob - I don't know the genre... think I saw something about Italian Disco/Experimental Techno crossover... but no idea really... anyway, it's a contender for the best album I've sumbled upon this year... really great...
