Hi guys! I live in Chile, "South-south" America
So, anybody else... speak/write in spanish or is from spanish-speaker South America?

(I can talk and read in english but writing is not my strongest point)

Your english seems pretty good to me!

Between high school and college I've had somewhere around 4 years of spanish, but I've forgotten all but the basics.

all i can remember from high school is "a la derecha"
which is really helpful if something is at the right side or at a right turn ...

my second bf taught me "hijo de la puta", but i dont think that's very helpful

I think my favorite is "chingadera", which is basically a vulgar form of "thing" when you don't know what to call something.

EDIT: There are other contextual usages, but that is always how I used it.

Yo hablo español, soy de Mexico, aunque tambie trato de practicar mi ingles
porque la pregunta?

And about the chingadera word, curiosly, most of the native words from
the capital city (mexico DF) they do start with CH or us the CH very common, like:
chanfle (no translation)
chingadera (yes, thing)
chale (a slang word, no translation)
chingale (work hard)
chingar (poking in the ribs???)
chanza (chance)

It's Ok XD
Y nada, sólo para saber acerca de fiestas, eventos, recitales... por ejemplo acá tocan pronto Syrian y Depeche Mode (En general cuando un grupo toca en Brasil/Argentina/Perú toca también en Chile)

Saludos
