waiting in the drizzle for a good 15 minutes for the fire truck to arrive because you're a good tenant who evacuates the building when a fire alarm rings

i had enough time for my tea to get cold (inside), get wet (outside) and eat 1 1/4 bagels i picked up at tim hortons  before (blueberry toasted and buttered)

at least i didnt miss my song request

I can't tell you how many times I've missed mine by 5 minutes because I got called away from desk for something.

Apartment fires are scary.  Last year I came home to find the building next to mine gutted.  I have insurance, but still, some things can't be replaced (like my cats).

Glad it was only an inconvenience.

about 40 minutes later i had to evacuate a second time!

turns out it was some leaking water triggering the sensor or something

i have to admit even though i like my cats, i left them
mainly because a) all alarms i experienced in my time here were false and b) i only have two arms to carry two carriers and then there'd be third cat
i probably burn first before im able to rile up the two girls running around scared and hiding everywhere

Priorities: kids, you, cats; perfectly logical to me.

You could always toss the third out and figure out what to do about it later (if you had time in the first place).  At one point my ex and I had 5 together, and that was kind of the plan - herd them out the door if possible.  All the other animals were s.o.l.

Aww damn thats a sucky way to spend your day.

As for cats, arent they smart enough to evacuate themselves once there really is a fire? Or you could toss them out of the window, they end up on their feet anyways.
