As much as I'm not a fan of angelspit, I have reservations about a voting mechanism to alter the database for any group unless it was clearly agreed upon by a vast majority.  I tolerate (mute button ftw!) the few songs I don't like and, as unlikely as I think it would be, I'd be irritated if something I liked got the boot.

Maybe, if a listener makes a nomination, we could vote to take existing songs or albums out of regular rotation, but leave it available for requests.  Fans could still advocate what they like, but presumably only when they will be listening.

I was thinking more something along the lines of, maybe the bottom 5% get removed and I take the top 10-15% or so as a direction to keep building the station in.

That being said - your concerns are another reason I've never implemented this.

Fair enough.

People seem to be mostly vocal about groups they don't like.  So I'll offer this:

Project Pitchfork is as badass as it gets.  They are the antithesis of terrible, well except for that anomaly, steelrose.  wtf?  :P

I'm a fan of some of Angelspit's music, but there are some of their songs that I can't stand.  My wife thinks Destroyx's voice is extremely annoying and monotone, and to some degree I agree with her.  If no one else really speaks up and the majority of those here wish for the band's removal, then hey by all means.  Personally I don't care if the band stays on the station or not, I just enjoy listening to DG to hear new music, and if I like it, I'll get the CD for my own personal pleasure.  Simple as that.

Honestly, I'm expecting some complaints shortly anyway.. I've been on a bit of a kick of adding some more offbeat/instrumental/experimental-ish stuff as well as some old school music. The current general scene is boring me a bit so I've been branching out into other things.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable backlash!

Man, I love Project Pitchfork so much. Definitely one of my favorites. I wouldn't say Steel Rose is terrible, but is definitely not one of my favorites.

Whatever

i like project pitchfork.  but their politics fucking suck.  people should just shut the fuck up and play music.  i can not fucking stand to listen to london after midnight and assemblage-23 any more because every time i hear them i remember some of their idiotic public statements and lyrics.  i actually got into an argument with that he-she that sings for london after midnight.  he called me a nazi. a half jew, half american indian.  wow.  what a moron.

I got a visual of a Mel Brooks, playing the part of a Navajo, saying, "oi, vey!" after finding out the Nazis were using their swirling log symbol.

K. I am not saying this is bad, but It sure is long : Regen Magazine podcast
Provided by RegenMag.com . I spend almost half of my nights listening time on this one podcast. I think It should be deleted for multiple shorter songs, then again..who gives a shit what I think.

I only play this podcast twice a week - do you only get to listen a couple of times a week?

Listen bro, I do appreciate the hard work you guys put forth presenting this music. I wouldn't be listening if it wasn't respectable & worth every bit of my free time. I do all i can to support the local scene "albiet small in alb NM" , & my listening time amounts to about 2 hours a night after I get off of work, If I am not on call at the pharmacy. All I am saying is..this podcast is haunting me..it's sort of following me whenver i log in so to speak..if you can believe that, and it's not that great. Example..I just logged in and it's 7:15 pm MST and the fucking podcast in ON !! Seriously, It's way too long and not that great..the rest of the songs on the list are uber....im just sayin.

Lol, I wondered the same thing, made me think of the Dead Kennedys a bit.

I'm trying to broaden everyone's horizons! Which song in particular played that you thought sounded punkish? Most of their tracks have some synth in 'em.
