76  General / Technical Support / Re: review applet messed up? on: July 23, 2007, 08:18:45 pm
whenever i type in a review in the applet box, it keeps messing up the keyboard settings or recognition

at first i thought i was going crazy and my cat previously sleeping on the keyboard might have changed the setting, but by now i can say following:
your review applet changes the recognition of typed keys from german to american

im scrambling to remember swapping z and y, but it also get's more bothering to remember special characters

any way to change it ?

cheers
You and your crazy Germanlander keyboard.

Krimmy's the bomb-diggity.

And apparently, a bomb-diggity of mass destruction, because he's impossible to find.

Yeah, DG doesn't play anything from a RIAA-affilated labels.

Decided to finally get away from Windows and move to a Linux desktop. The WGA shit was the last straw for me. I even own 3 legitimate copies of Windows (98SE, 2000 and XP Pro.)

Is Iris in the playlist?

Their singles are pretty decent.
81  General / General Discussion / Re: Silence on June 26? on: June 28, 2007, 12:38:23 am

What the internet radio folks are trying to get across is that by adding this fee they're not supporting music they're hurting it by having less people hear it.

While I really would enjoy to be slaving over Overlord (released this Tuesday) while listening to DG my gaming music of choice, I'd not mind seeing the cause supported, though I think I'd rather just see all the stations stop playing music by the above labels entirely for the long term. As it will have more impact than a single day silence. Just my view.

I agree, very little is gained by single day blackouts, unless it effects the functioning of the entire populas.  For example, we turn off the gas station pumps or electricity for a day.  The movie, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" complete classic would give you a better idea.  Since people can survive without internet radio, I highly doubt that anything will be gained from a 1 day blackout.  If the black out was an entire week or even a month, I think the situation would be differnet.
As I understand it, a couple million users were impacted by it.

Not an end of the world situation, but enough to piss off more than a few people into contacting the Congressmen, which I think was their goal.

I can't seem to make my email hidden. I've checked the box and unchecked the box. Can everyone else see it when they click on my profile, or am i just seeing it because it's mine?
I'm pretty sure it's the latter. I can see the IP addresses that I post from while I'm logged in, but not when I'm logged out. I'd assume the situation with your email address is the same way.
83  General / General Discussion / Re: 192k stream - what's it worth? on: June 22, 2007, 03:30:25 am
I'd love the stream in 192. Most people can't tell the difference between that and 128 but I can. Anyone that has more than two speakers should be able to. When you have 5+ speakers you can really tell the difference. EBM has a lot of tracks in it, at 128 it gets quite a bit chimey on some of the cymbals and background noises. However, part of the allure of internet radio is the free part. We already pay for connections to it, why add more costs? If it is a matter of paying versus living with 128, I'll take 128 and buy a tshirt from the site instead. What is the biggest cost though? The dedicated box or the bandwidth fees? If it's the box, do you use a real full blown server or just a converted desktop PC? If the latter, someone might be inclined to donate a system...
How does adding more speakers help you hear 2 channel audio better?

awesome sites man thanks!
what the heck is la flota matilda
la floa maldita is a band OF COURSE, as you asked for music suggestions
it wont be a car or an energy drink

im not surprised you would not find any information if you did a search with your butchered spelling, i'd suggest copy/pasting to avoid that
How would copy/pasting help? swampfeotus fucked up the spelling, too.

pretty sure zeromancer is on riaa label and wolfshiem i think used to be played. Shirow knows a site where you can search to see if an album is on an riaa affiliated label but i don't have the link anymore.

~~Edit got my lazy ass on google

TF2 does indeed look awesome.

UT2007 should rock fairly hard, as well.
