Hmm, in the one I played there were time units for each member of your crew rather than just two movement types. This allowed a lot of control over your characters when you really needed to micromanage your ass out of a bad spot.
As the game developed, more attacks were happening at faster rate and the only way to keep up was to build more bases so that you could deploy interceptors and other ships more readily. It would get crazy.
A lot of the money came from selling off artifacts and technology that you developed from salvaged items.
And yeah, if you're feeling like the whole thing is hopeless, they've got it right.

No, but I imagine it's a blast. True to old versions? I played Terror from the deep in the latter 90's and to date it's still my favorite game. There was nothing so satisfying as having 80% of your mission team waxed by a grenade before they ever got off the ship and still completing the mission.

Been staying busy with work. On the note of helicopter rides, we were doing some work with a company from Canada on some modifications to old hueys. Part of it involved a full flight test workup at various altitudes so I got the privilege of flying about 5-700 feet up in an experimental UH-1H from the Dallas area west to Santa Fe, up through the Rocky Mountains to Alamosa and Leadville Colorado, and back.
Good to see you're near the the end of your undergraduate program, Lexus. That feeling you'll have when you're done is nearly unrivaled.

Hi Gara, best advice I could give is to listen to DG and when you hear something you like, take note of the album and song on the main page. There is also the music database, so you could go through and listen to the sample clips for each song listed.

I seem to recall another tune that samples where Joker is saying "Shut the fuck up and repeat after me" and "This is my rifle.." repeatedly - and Pyle crying.
And I'd love to tell you who did it. I can't right off.

I could be wrong, but it seemed forum traffic declined significantly after the last redesign. I don't know how to address that, if it is coincidental, or what.
This is more behind the scenes: it would be nice to be able to have some way to delete spam posts in blocks. Typically they don't post more than a few per account but I had to individually remove 129 posts from one spammer last Saturday night.
I always liked seeing requests in queue. I'm sure you've got your reasons for removing that.

I've sent an email off to Shirow. He's got a full plate with work and his family so please be patient with him while we wait for a fix.

Hello siix, Another DG fan produced an app and placed it on the market about two years ago. There is a thread about it here. On the third page it looks like there is also a winamp app that might be able to get DG on your phone. I don't have a smart phone, so that's all the help I can give.
