Well... I've just about had it with ACID and it's shitty fucking glitches. I did press the print screen button as soon as I read your original message about it... but it doesn't work. My SD drive doesn't work either so I had to buy a USB transmitter for my phone's SD card just for some damn music. I do look at my loops very carefully and really appreciate all the advice on here. I'm wondering if my soundcard is responsible for this. I'm trying to look into Pro Tools, but I don't have the money needed for it...
As for other computer problems, lol: Itunes won't work My keyboard won't connect to the computer My modem goes in and out ONLY when I'm not using the internet MSN messenger and AIM won't work And I am unable to delete AOL from my computer
I have alternate programs to bypass most of this shit, though
I'm going to punt this thing into a wood chipper some day and get a damn Mac

okay just as soon as I figure out how to make a screenshot, lol.
Basically, I put a loop in that's perfectly lined up. I render it, and then the new file's beats are slightly off.
I'll work on the screenshot, though.
EDIT: hahaha I figured it out... but now I have more questions...
It turns out that whenever I render something in MP3 form, it does this, but in WAV form, it's perfect. So are all MP3's slightly offset like this? If so, why are they used instead of WAV?

I really appreciate your guys' help with this. I use ACID Pro 6, and when I render a loop I made, like say a 4/4 kick loop, it will push the 1st and 4th beat towards the middle so when I repeat it there's a physical pause when it loops. (basically, it sounds off beat because the drums are offset. I've noticed that there's a button that tells me to 'play quantized' which seems to temporarily solve the problem when I'm chopping it, but I can't find an option that will make this effect permanent so that I can render it with the beats on mark. I tried your advice, Methaqualone, to use fade ins but that didn't solve the problem. I'm not sure what to do.

I just got ACID Pro 6, and whenever I render loops to condense them it puts a little space at the beginning and at the end of the loop, 'crunching it together and basically destroying my drum loops. Does anyone know how to stop this?

General / General Discussion / DG things I've noticed

These aren't really complaints... I'm very happy with this site and these aren't even big things. Just trying to be helpful. Car Crash by Snog has played 2 days in a row at about the same time... a song 'skipped' for a few secs earlier today, and the DG home was nonexistant for a few minutes.
Kind of minor glitches, just thought Shirow should know. Anyone else notice anything weird?

I do like some of their stuff. I haven't seen their show, but I bet it's pretty awesome from what people tell me. I do agree that it shouldn't be on DG... because of the musicality, not the quality. I do raise my eyebrow about the idiot who started this thread... reminds me of some kind of lemming preacher or something, as creeps said. But you shouldn't let idiots like him affect your judgment... if you don't like it you don't like it and other assfucks don't need to flame you for it. What the hell ever happened to subjectivity?

A little less than when they toured with Combichrist... Their 'live' drum kit consists of a snare, a floor tom and a bass drum... What's the point of that? They are really nice guys and they did get the crowd going, though it wasn't even close to Aesthetic Perfection. They need to NOT program their leads! That is retarded on so many levels. Program everything else if you want, IR, but not your fucking leads.

I thought Aesthetic Perfection was the best of the three. He was louder and his songs were easier to hear... I've never liked SITD, and Imperative pissed me in many ways. They did the whole "let's plan on leaving early and then ask if anyone wants to hear more songs" bit. That would have been cool if YOUR SET LIST WASN'T POSTED IN FRONT OF FUCKING EVERYONE! Everyone knew they were going to do that shit, and on top of it all of their leads were 3/4 the volume they should have been. Aesthetic Perfection and SITD had badass bass kicks, but it seems like the IR drummer was only half as loud. Ted did a good job singing and joining with the Audience as did SITD, (I got to sing one part of Closed In!). Overall, yes it could have been better, but it was worth the $18 and I'd definitely do it again. My friend and I have the posters from the venue, too.

I got this album when I went to their Milwaukee Show on Monday... Very very repetitive, but the timbre is super sexy, as with the last album. I'll write up a review soon, I want to listen to it few more times. Has anyone else heard it? It's like As We Fall, but this time Ted Phelps learned some new tricks, some of which are going to get flamed on here real bad I bet... like when he screams. :\ My favorites right now are Head Up Too High and Functional. I read on the back and it says that Andy Leplagua helped him on several tracks, and you can definitely tell which ones. The concert wasn't too bad other than the facts that a) all of their leads are programmed and thus waaay quieter than the rest of their tracks and b) the drummer needs to stop spitting on the audience.
So what do you guys think? I'm voting for Head Up Too High to be added for sure, I'm going to a few more listens before I back any other tracks.

LinPlug makes Alpha, I believe. The Pirate Bay is a beautiful thing, lol. You do have a major point about Vanguard... I just wish they made more synths that kicked that much ass. I have another Mod Synth I forgot to list... it's a weird one but I recommend everyone check out. It's the only synth I know that you can operate by waving your mouse around. It's called Rollosonic, and even though I haven't used it yet, I love fucking around with it.

Well... We're just starting out. I'm a perfectionist about everything when it comes to music (which pisses off my bandmate A LOT, lol) so everytime we get something started, I usually scrap it. Right now we are mixing Left Spine Down's Last Daze, and we have mixed Torrent Vaccine's Exude for their contest, but we don't know who won that one yet so I can't show it. Because of the shitty rules Bit Riot Records put up, technically the entire song is their property and so all we have are like 3 songs right now. I'm going to take the time to make a Facebook, Myspace, VF, etc, as soon as we get more than a handful of songs going. This summer we plan on touring the US. We are also planning to be on the Experiment Haywire Tribute Album doing "Mean Enough Hot Enough". We haven't worked on that quite yet... all we know is that we're doing it in 8/4 time, lol. I'll stop now since this is waaaaaay off the thread topic.
