Nothing against other languages and if anything. I am pissed off at myself for not learning to speak French when with the opportunity in high school. And Japanese would be awsesome to know. Konichiwa and compai if spelt right are amoungst maybe a dozen words if I rack my brain. Yet anyways because of the carpet bomb of a somewhat Asain language decent. And in all that the only one word I could recognize, was Gucci. So I thought to write something in English.
Todays job for me was to replace the idler arm which has put my 2 front tires feathered down on the inside to the point of miss shape with a wobbel that has compounded to such a state that it was remarked that I better change that front tire on the drivers side because it was getting the the blowout stage. Never mind the damage been done to the stearing assemby with that radical wobbel that was going to put me in a blowout at any time now. Could be fatal. I was quoted 3-400 bucks by the time the dust settled to have it done. But I thought why not just by the part for 95 bucks and try it myself. The idler arm was not what I thought it was yet looked like with some common sense and the correct tools, it should not be to tough to change it. Then I googled it with the part in my hand. There I learned a couple of good advice points for the MO. I did it and it worked. I was fortunate to have 4 of the same size tires to select the best 2 from. 20 bucks to change them on the rims and 20 buckis for the extra sockets and correct box end wrench size I needed.
Yahoo. The wobbels gone now with the worn out idler arm being the cause of the extreme tire ware. Cheers all.
Just thought to mention that with my cold Guiness sitting in front of me. I dont have to feel that growing wobbel with thoughts of a fatal blowout while trying to get to work. I was pretty sure I was on my last run yesterday after I got the new part in town. I kept the 2 tires after they were changed out and the drivers side beyond the inside feathering exposing the wire. There was also a big chunk of rubber almost torn off and exposing the inner layers of the wire. It was going to blow at any time.
Glad I got that done today on a day off. Later all.

General / General Discussion / Stompin Tom Connors

I know that Stompin Tom has nothing to do with the industrial music style except inadvertently, just the way he is of coarse. However, Stompin Tom Connors is a great Canadian musician who deserves the recognition he has earned in his 55 years of performing. And I guess that when I was a very young kid it was my dad in the car who pointed out Stompin Tom to me over the radio when I knew nothing about music. His name comes from the way he would stomp down on his right foot to keep the beat over the noise of the audience. None of the venues wanted his foot to go threw the stage, thus he would bring his own piece of plywood to stomp on as it would be quite worn down to sawdust by the end of the show. Bud the Spud, Consumer, and of coarse one of the greatest songs he ever wrote. The Hockey Song. Over 300 songs on over 4 dozen albums which I do not have or ever seen one. Yet he wrote about the hard working and the not so wealthy Canadians as they struggled with life from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. Stompin Tom Connors passed away last night on the 6th of March 2013 at the age of 77, dying of natural causes. This is my eulogy to Stompin Tom Connors. The next time I hear the Hockey Song. I sure will think of you Stompin Tom Connors. Cheers mate. Hunter J7.......

Good luck with all of this redesign work Shirow. The wishlist is definately one of my source locations for when I start buying. I never saw it but what DrewtheTexan mentioned earlier. A que for requests sounds good. I was thinking for simplicities sake, maybe just the name of the next track coming on weather its a request or not. It would sure help in making sure to be around for when my request is coming up next. Or just to know what is next in line. I may want to make sure I am there to turn it up and kick back. And there is nothing worse than missing your request. Well I guess that is not exactly true. There are many worse things on this planet. However, to even just get a one track warning that yours is coming up next will sure help to cut down or eliminate the missing of a request. I know I made some comments in earlier forums about the spammers. Being relatively new to digital stations. I was unaware of such horrible vandalism. And that is pretty much what I thought it was when seeing it for the first time. Digital Vandalism. I would rather see the advertising for the latest model in haz mat gas masks. Or even just to read about the AK 47 and listen to the track. A little bit different from Prada for fukk sakes. A lot of empathy goes out to DretheTexan for having to get rid of all that shite. Thanks for the great station Shirow. Good day Eh.

General / General Discussion / Catching the request.

I am sure you know what its like when you put in a request and then inadvertantly you miss it cause of some reason or another. Oh rats, maybe next time. And sure enough I was busy dealing with the wake of the recent snow storm. A lot of snow ghosts in that one with massive drifts in the driveway and deck. But when I came in today and wanted that trip down memory lane I put in the request and carried on with the indoor errands with my ears scanning out for 242. And just when coming up the stairs after getting the fire going after a good list of other stuff done. I was thinking that it should be soon. I crash down on couch and as I land comes the first note of U Men. Perfect. Turn it up and carry on with, at ease. Thanks DG. Cheers.

Gooday Lexus and yo Drewthetexan. Best of the year to you and any to read. I just got back myself. Anoter 21 day shift on the Sea Rose FPSO. Same ship I went to Belfast on last spring. The accomadation and administration area were done up right festive with a tree on the bridge and in the galley / cafeteria. And Godbless Huskey Energy. We even got Christmas off. This trip was all done in the engine room. The trickiest one so far. Underneath the main engine deck. Right to the bottom amoungst the structural integrity steel making the foundation of the ship. A maze of small confined space compartments to making up a seeled off tank for weld, structure and coating inspection.
The best part of these hitches is when the Sikorsky lands and drops you out at the Cougar heliport. Looking out at the white and blue water of North Atlantic while flying from the ship. Thoughts are allways with flt 491 4 years ago. One man survived. Sixteen men, one woman not so. And then the short time over the transition from sea to land. The steep cliffs of hard, cold rock before the land is developed. So farr diligence in maintanence,,, and for maybe next time if it happens. A different attitude toward the run dry time. Not 30 minutes but somewhere up to 30 minutes. So use what time the gear box holds to do a controled descent in the ocean no matter how rough. Although they dont fly if seas more the 6.4 meters.
Ditching in the sea. Forget the chopper, a much better chance of survival for pilots and passengers. But thankfully we landed and Ya, after 21 days of the toughest work done in a while... It felt good to feel the ground. So many flights always getting cancelled because of weather. But now your checked out in the survival suits and suddenly your in the air and en route to land. And thanks to fate we landed and and then you can pull off the survival suits, grab your shoes from the big geen canvas bag, grab your gear. Go home and have a Guiness that was sitting cold on the porch. Now I look to chase down the next 21 day hitch. It is both tough and easy. I like it I guess.
Just wanted to say hi... Good to be back on land to have DG again. Later. And Cheers to the new year.
And of coarse. Good luck to your bachelors Lexus.

Now that the election is over, I sure am hoping for world peace and prosperity now. I'm also hoping to win the lottery. And those are both pretty tall orders. I think most Canadians are somewhat relieved on the results yet I can only say what CBC reports and how I feel. Now I guess we shall see how things are going to proceed. Back to the other topic in politics I brought up. Washington, Colorado and 6 other states for medicle use. It is a good start. It sure is curious how Canada was close to legalizing it several years ago but neighborly pressure was to heavy for that to go through. And now the big switch. Political eyes are opening up below the 49th. And at the same time our bonehed priminister is going the opposite way and have just made mandatory jail time for growing. 6 plants will get you 6 months. I guess the rational is because of the underground activity for cocaine and violence brought about from the nature of it being underground. Hmm. I wonder what could cure that problem. Maybe the same way the politicians cured the failed prohabition on alcohol so long ago. Prohabition which ecouraged smuggling from Canada, and the rise of small distileries. And what was the answer. Legalize, control, and tax the hell out of it. I know it will still be some time before that does happen yet the first steps towards it have been taken. Now I can only hope that the Canadian politicians will reopen there eyes towards it which they probably will. Yet not untill we remove the current leader of our land. I sure do hope that the Canadian population is seeing how dumbass the conservatives are being. Lets get the liberals back in with the new democrats supporting them. That is what I would like to see in Canada. And of coarse, will remain hoping to win the lottery.

Of coarse I have quite a few non industrial songs but wont go on listing them all like I have already listed a few, yet on occaision when there is a trigger that makes me remember one. I would like to make mention of it. And of coarse today is quite important to bring one up as I reheard it on the CBC radio staion I was listening to this morning in regards to today being election day in the USA. 1992 by Leanard Cohen. From the album Future. That song alone in itself sure did make me take notice of Mr. Cohen. And the video to Future was pretty damn cool. However the song I am actually refering to right now on that album by Leanard Cohen which of coarse was played on CBC this morning for obvious reasons. DEMOCRACY. If I was intelligent enough to put it on this page where you just have to click it to play I would. But I am not that technilogically advanced so just U Tube it as I am sure it will give all a good chuckle.

Good day to all the DG listeners out there. Or is it? Who knows. I guess the decision will be made sometime late this evening. Being Canadian up north of the 49th, I have been putting some interest into the battle going on for so long. Red or Blue. It sure seems like a close game right now. I made a comment on the forum a little while ago how Canadian comedians love to take apart our leaders. Especially the bonehead priminister we got in power right now. And then I saw Bill Maher on the good ole TV. I sure did appreciate his point of view and the humor that went with it. And just to let you know. In Canada there is over 70 percent of Canadians that are, I would not say cheering for the Blue side. Yet definately in favore. And that is according to the CBC radio show I listen to in the morning which is pretty much the national radio station that goes accross the land. I listen to that station to catch up on national politics and to what is going on around the world before getting back to Digital Gunfire to pick up on the other dimension of what is going around this planet from an industrial point of view. With that being said I was real happy to hear about the long overdue concept that is being reviewed in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado. And that of coarse was on CBC this morning where I heard about it for the first time. I also find it interesting that there may be some dialogue with British Columbia due to the expertise they have in producing the gear. With industry slowing down in many of the B.C towns. There had to be something to replace the union jobs that were keeping those towns in financially alive. And B.C bud is definately one of the elements that did. But then the gangs and violence that went with it on our side of the border and yours. And to definately not exclude Mexico, is unfortunately what made it so criminal. So I take my hat off to the states I mentioned that are going to try and reverse this problem, not by putting more people in prison. But to finally legalize and tax it. That just may help the economy to improve a bit and let the cops go after the real criminals as apposed to wasting huge amounts of money by busting and prosecuting some frustrated person for smoking one and then cop taking some of the evidence for there own reasons. As today is so important down south of the 49th which will certainly affect what happens up here and all around the world. The best way to describe politics in general which comes from my favorite New Order album. Power, Corruption and Lies.
