Hello-

I've been a faithful listener and follower since the early days (around 2000 or so, the days when your station would show up on iTunes radio under "electronica") and just wanted to tell you how great it is that you weren't a technological casualty like so many burgeoning fans of this scene. (Anyone remember spinner.com? HAHAHAHAHA!!)  I am a fan of all sorts of music and can speak on them with authority, but electro and industrial continues to be my favorite, especially because it seems to be the music of the future (thanks for coining the term "futurepop").  I continue to refer my fellow rivet-heads to this site and "scene."  Please continue spinning great tunes and don't forget the older stuff! You rock!

Hey, gald you could Join us...yea, there are deffinately some strange genra names out there. They often seem to think of a name that in 5-25 years will no longer make sence.

as for Rivithead, you may see this name dropping off in the popularity charts due to its apperant originator being a Titmouse.

*snicker*

As for the term "futurepop", I avoid it completely.  Why?  Well first of all, "synthpop" is a perfectly descriptive term that overlaps pretty heavily with it anyway, and second of all, what are we going to refer to "futurepop" as twenty years from now, when it's actually pastpop?

I mean, how stupid do you feel referring to "New Wave" music?  80's music is hardly "New" anymore...

weeeeeelllllll ... it's difficult for me to call it synthpop
since i would associate *older* music with that term, a la OMD, human league, new order, ultravox, early depeche mode, erasure, pet shop boys, etc

they do sound way different than the modern stuff, which is rather a mix of techno with industrial ... or so

Theory is when you know everything and nothing works.
Practice is when things work, and no one knows why.
Here we combine theory and practice.
Nothing works and no one knows why.
