I found this site by accident when I was looking for sound samples of all things.

After slogging through track after track in Pandora for the rare occasion it would pick out something new I'd like, or trolling Rhapsody randomly picking artists I haven't heard, I finally found a place that plays exactly the kind of music I want to hear.

All my favorite groups are here and I'm constantly hearing new music on the stream.

One thing I was wondering though is why only some tracks on any given album are available for requests. Is that a licensing issue?

Thanks for keeping it going!

Welcome!

In regards to your question about the number of tracks, it's a couple of things.

One is that I tend to only play the best (in my opinion, anyway) songs from an album. My viewpoint is, if you want to hear every song on an album - buy it! DG is to get a good taste of different artists.

Secondly, it's to deter people from recording the stream in lieu of purchasing CDs - even if you record the stream, you won't be able to get every song from an album.

So, in general, it's really to support the artists as well as I can.. but it's also because not all songs are worth listening to ;)

Well, that explains why the Initial Command album by FLA isn't on here.
(I know, bad joke, booo..hissss)

I subscribed for the year btw.

Thanks again.

Listening to the subscriber stream; it sounds great!

I can't get any work done though. Whenever I hear something new I like I have to stop and listen to it. :-)

My list of new music to check out is growing pretty quickly. Hocico, Panzer Ag, Rotersand, Amnistia, The Retrosic, Supreme Court, PainBastard, and mindFIELD are on the to-do list so far.

oh man, you are definitely in the downward spiral now wysiwyg! You are ruined now, all your focus will be on industrial, sweet industrial (and its plethora of sub-genres of course)!

It's certainly better than relying on Pandora to find something I want to listen to. I wish I would have found this site years ago.
