Well i just wanna say DG has been an eyeopener for me, stuck here in the UK i struggle to get my hands on anything decent so this is a great place for me discover new stoof.

Recently added the isohunt toolber to my browser aswell and it has a mini radio player built in. So everytime im online i am just one click away from here :) mint

off topic, but amusing (at least to me).  japanese car crash actually came to play in my tiny town of farmington new mexico with the guys from the 80s that just came out with the new album synthesizer (cant remember the name at the moment).  that night i put DG on and heard the very last song that he played that night.  i dont really like japanese car crash that much, but i have to give him props for being brave enough to be up on stage with an audience of about 20 people out in the middle of nowhere in new mexico.  i just see his music as a tiger beat/IDM modern day cure.

So, I just went back through this thread and it looks like I've implemented almost everything suggested in here that was feasible. Anything else? I'm working on a few more site updates still that will be revealed soon.. some improvements to the review system being one.

There isn't much I would actually want to change about DG, it's easily the best internet radio out there in terms of music and reliability. No ads, no problems connecting, no sudden buffering, works like a dream.

My only problem is the WWW player. I'm not sure about others, but I use it a fair bit and I find that it only occasionally tells you what is playing and sometimes the black now playing text will just disappear. If it could constantly display the playing song, it would be perfect.

As for possible improvements, brainstorming here I'd like to see something more than an amazon link on rollover. Maybe something like a small dropdown menu where you can select amazon link, band's official website, myspace, discogs etc.

Another thing that would be pretty cool would be a small DG band page. Just like a little info page on the band playing, nothing like wikipedia size, just a short bio, dates active, list of releases that sort of thing plus the links mentioned above. Not really a necessary feature or anything, but it'd be pretty cool to see. I'm sure the DG forums community wouldn't mind finding info for the bio pages or links to official websites etc.

you can go right ahead on that one
 [=

ps: personally i dont really think such a feature is necessary, if im interested in the bands playing on dg i'd look for info myself, not want to be spoon-fed (besides you're probably already somewhat knowledgeable in the field of industrial/ebm/future pop music and have some info about certain bands)
also keep in mind that the play-list is limited in regards to riaa unaffiliated bands, so a major part of well-known bands of the genre wont even be talked about

my understanding is that dg is a radio stream in the first place with some people having fun on a message board

but hey, if shirow or others want to put that much effort in, knock yourself out guys ... i just think there're tendencies to go way overboard than what is necessary

reviews:
- make it so it doesn't eat your review if you mistype the control code
- rename "Search for reviews" to "Search for albums", which is less confusing
- make you go to the review page, and not amazon.com, if you click on the album cover/title
