reviews:
- make it so it doesn't eat your review if you mistype the control code
- rename "Search for reviews" to "Search for albums", which is less confusing
- make you go to the review page, and not amazon.com, if you click on the album cover/title

I like all but the last Idea. I don't know about anyone else but I frequently click on the albumcover/title so I can view the amazon page and see what other tracks might be on an album that I'm considering purchasing.

i just started listening, and personaly i find it perfect.
i like pretty much all of it from the melody of assemblage and neuroticfish too the harshness of aesthetic perfection and older imperative reaction

Has anything been changed with the WWW player so soon? I've noticed the black Now Playing text doesn't seem to be disappearing. Also the main page seems to be quicker at updating which songs are playing. Intentional or not, good work!

Edit: I've heard about blank reviews being submitted and some people not writing stuff/writing giberish just to rate it. Is it possible to have a rollover star rating thing like youtube has, where rating is as easy as clicking, but people can also choose to review (and rate) at the same time? Just brainstorming ideas here really.

Anything is possible.. keep the ideas coming. I think that's a fairly good idea, I'd just have to figure out how to display it.

I'll be changing the WWW player to a flash based one fairly soon.

visited/read thread links are the same color as unread, making it difficult to tell what's been read & what hasn't.

i noticed in another post you said you don't get notifications when someone uploads a gallery item.. i would think there would be an option to turn that on or off, but then again i'm mostly familiar with vbulletin. otherwise there should be a simple script you could toss in for that, it can only make life easier :)

Just a small idea, I'm not sure if I'd like it myself. But how about a small bar that shows the next track in the queue, IE the next one to be played.

I would make the request system easier to predict (and play the requested songs earlier).

Yesterday I did a request and gave up hearing it after around 1-2 hours...

EDIT: same happened today, queued a request, and it's been i don't know how many hours...

Due to DMCA laws, I cannot make it any more precise. It might be 10 minutes, it might be 2 hours. if there's a ton of requests in the queue, it could even be 8 hours.

I also have to temper the regular playlist against the request queue.. I don't want requests playing all day.

it would be nice to have a link in the forum header pointing to the homepage www.digitalgunfire.com - there are times when i'm browsing the forum & want to check the site. maybe have the DG.com in the upper left take you there?

on a side note, i like how the 2 are integrated & the homepage shows who's logged in, recent posts, etc, yet doesn't look like a typical portal page.

edit: found a nice integrated IRC chat. this might encourage those who are intimidated by IRC or don't want to download/configure software to use the chat: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1256 - also good for those who are using a machine they can't install software on ;)

How about an anti-request system.  Say if some people keep requesting I song I don't like I could use one of my anti song request and the next time some one tries to request that song it gets rejected.

Edit: Also how about an edit system for your own reviews.  I mean after you enter a review there is no way to edit what you said.

Don't fuck it up :D

An edit would be nice if its not to hard to add.
