I know what you mean my boyfriend and I were planning to go to the June 12th show in Baltimore,MD and sadly now we can't afford it. which sucks b/c I know my boyfriend has been a huge fans for years and this would have been his first time seeing them LIVE (mine too, but it would have meant more to him, and I know how much he would have enjoyed it.) Also I know that Skinny Puppy doesn't tour much, unlike some artist that tour year round and have a cd out ever year. But hopefully when and if they do tour next time that we will have enough money saved.

Anyone else put off by the older stuff Skinny Puppy has? I find myself only liking Greater Wrong and Mythmaker. That's just me maybe.

P.S. Please god don't flame me.

the older stuff IS skinny puppy
back and forth, cleanse fold and manupilate, vivisectvi, rabies, too dark park ....
tormentor, worlock, dig it, addiction, stairs and flowers, censor, tin omen, spasmolytic, love in vain ...

the break was "the process" and then it went just downhill
"the greater wrong of the right" sounds just like another solo-project of ohGr
you might as well listen to "Welt" and "SunnyPsyOp"
and what the fuck is the deal with all the AlterNatinG caPs writing ?
it is as pathetic as marylin manson wearing only one white contact

why oh why do bands think they have to re-unite and bring out albums when one of the key members died years ago (goettel)

as an industrial fan from the "old days" i cannot relate or agree to your point of view at all, but maybe that's just fucking me

people that like old skinny puppy generally like the old material where as of course newer listeners will more than likely prefer the newer albums. This happens with a lot of bands. whatever. listen to what you like.

I personally don't care for older skinny puppy.

i think creeps is having an angry day :)

Quite a few people find it hard to get into older SP. It's not unusual.

Well, for me too old Skinny Puppy _is_ the one and only Skinny Puppy, so I'm siding with creeps on this. However, I do enjoy some of the newer stuff from e.g. SP, although it from my pov could have been just any other new band. Even though I desperately hope that some of the old bands will rejoin and create some new stuff (but still sounding like the old stuff!) I realize this is a futile wish and mostly get quite disappointed when new albums are released. Must be getting old, or something ... ;)

some of their tracks can sound aged but there are quite a few which are timeless imo.
take smothered hope for instance, very simple and in the end trance like, lyric is just wonderful.

but i am not an objective source. I am an old foggie who grew up with sp music.
tin omen and worlock brings back lot great memories. mostly of mass of heaving sweaty bodies hunched over and flailing about in unison.

oh and hi to shirow, creeps and swampy!

I GREW UP W/ SKINNY PUPPY BUT UNLIKE MOST OF THE ARTISTS I GREW UP WITH MY TASTES HAVE NOT MELLOWED, I THINK THAT SCRAPYARD IS THE BEST SONG THEY DID EXCEPT THAT IT'S TOO SLOW TO DANCE TO.
