seems like there are a lot of "german" songs played  and seems as well that lot of people enjoy them.

Kinda funny since I prefer english songs.

Maybe cause I m from germany, dunno. ;)

No offense... but i think German artists sound better in their own language. (no funny accent) And it sounds... amazing!

I agree, German artists (in general) certainly benefit from using their native language. But I also happen to think that German is a pretty nice language :)

I think it depends on the band, but there are a lot of funny songs sung phonetically by Germans.. v's pronounced as w's etc.

Nope, Swedish actually. But I used to be fluent, or near fluent, in three foreign languages, one of them being German. Today my spoken German is less good, but I certainly can read and understand German.

Although, I have to admit that German does have its up's and down's. Like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSUke7mMpYg&NR=1 for example. The milk maid sounds pretty nice, but I could certainly do without that old housewife ;)

and seriously, what's the obsession with the german language ... _me_ of all people cannot understand that at all
but then again i ran away from all that

Yeah but more then not. Funker Vogt does there entire sets in English. I mean when i saw them in Florida, I come to realize he learns his songs in English, but to speak it in person to another he doesnt know much. And his translation is horrible. But translate some old rammstein like Amerika or something.

Granted translaton is any german song is always bad.. because the literal translation is never actually correct. Our words dont mean exactly what the german words do..

But agreed creepy
