HellFencer,  a few friends and I play board games every weekend.  A couple of weekends ago we got the DnD beginner set.  It had really simple rules and not much variety.  Some how I got nominated to DM a real game.  None of us have ever played before so I just ordered the DMG online.  I'm hoping that I can read that to understand what I am suppose to be doing.  I figured I would also buy a pre-planned adventure for level 1's to get me started.

So any advice for me or suggestions of a good beginner pre-planned adventure?

I used to play some D&D, but I would listen to the German neo-medieval internet radio "Radio Aena" or Tanzwut/Corvus Corax/Qntal

I can't remember what I would listen to when I played Heros of Might & Magic,

but I would almost always listen to DG whilst playing WOW.

Cant realy call it a rpg.. more of a life simulator......... Any1 tried playing secondlife? pretty kewl game, u can own land and build stuff...even better is the way you can put digitalgunfires ip in your land tab and have it streaming 24/7 from your land. Also a club in the game dedicated to DG..... Pretty damn kewl...

I played second life for awhile. It's kind of neat, but I didn't really find it engrossing.

It's like a 3D modeler, with a 3D chat room built into it.

We tend to have SOME kind of music in the background of our WoD games, simply because it influences thought and what not. My group is a bunch of death metal heads, but I'm turning them. Maybe we'll get DG sometime down the road.

I definitely grind in WoW to DG though. I only wish there was a massive potpourri station I could listen to besides my own library, sans all the emo, country, pop, and gangster rap.

Yes, I've been quite disappointed in it, unfortunately. Haven't put in much time but it appears to be WoW in space at first glance.

I'm very much into games like UO and Shadowbane so I was disappointed. Hoping Age of Conan will fill the void I have.

Been waiting for Darkfall forever. It would definitely fit my idea of a near perfect MMO, but I have no faith it will ever reach beta, let alone be released.

Does Warhammer count?

I used to play some WH40K back in the day, had myself a nice little army of Chaos Space Marines. DOn't know where they are now and I've not played for about 10 years anyway. A friend of mine and I played a Necromunda league over about 6 months a couple of years ago just for old times sake and it's still fun...

DG works GREAT for any Whitewolf game.... Im in the middle of a Vampire The Masquerade game and this is a perfect soundtrack for my coterie's haven.

On another note.... does anyone play EQ?

When I play World of Warcraft, I usually turn off the sound and music. I pop up my win-amp and start playing Digital Gunfire Radio to keep me in the mood, cause gaming without music can cause you to get a little "bored" without anything engaging.

I do the same with FFXI.
Maybe not the most hardcore MMORPG or w/e, but it's good for those long runs through area with no in-game music.
