Seriously, assumed today's kids would be mainly be piloting military drones. How in shape do you need to be for that? Pretty much you just need to not fall asleep during the mission, during which you'll be chugging enough RedBull to kill a lesser man. Any recruit with less than 50k G on their XBox Live account need not apply. That's basically your SAT score for the military.
