Bolshevik was of course another Revolution in Russia, seems like they had one every other week as per history!
But this was the biggy where Lenin Came to power with the Bolsheviks part aka Marxist Commies! and the whole October Revolution which was brought up in the title of Hunt for Red October.
This is where they went from Red to BLOOD RED Commies!
Didn't Stalin kill more of his own people during those purges? than Hitler ever did? but I dont believe it was out of atheism
The Purges weren't a result of athiesm, but as a result of the revolution just getting out of hand, and the authorities doing nothing to prevent it. Ideology and economics.
Stalin contributed greatly to the Purges, but don't get this idea that Stalin personal wrote off every single person that received execution or gulag banishment.
Peasants ratted out another peasant as anti-Bolshevik Kulaks to the authorities, and they would get hauled off. A Kulak is traditionally a middle-class farmer, but back then, society was labeling anyone as a kulak. If for example peasant-A had one more pig than peasant-B, peasant-B could theoretically label him as a kulak and enemy of the state. Then take his things when peasnt-A disappears.
