I've been a longtime VNV fan.  Sadly, I only found them when I stumbled upon the Darkangel single. But anyways....

I have to agree with a previous post.  The album starts off wonderfully, but IMO falls flat towards the middle. I do think this album as a whole is better than Judgement though.

Personally I think VNV hit their pinnacle with FuturePerfect, and has been nose diving ever since.  There were a few good songs on Matter and Form, Judgement even less.  But nothing compared to FuturePerfect.  I replayed FP the other day and I sing along with practically all the songs.  Same with Empires. The newer stuff just isn't as memorable and as good as I think VNV can produce.  It's almost as if they're just being kind of lazy about it.

I don't know.  I love the guys, but I know they can do better.

Thinking this is VNV's most moving, most cohesive album since Futureperfect. If only this one followed Futureperfect instead of it taking two albums to get here, I think it would come off as an advancement rather than just polishing the patterns established by Matter+Form and Judgement.

I've listened to the album for days now, and have to say I really really love it.

Saw on twitter the other day that Faderhead absolutely hates it. Though I doubt anyone cares.
