Well, it happens that Shirow plays songs that haven't been requested by you (aka the normal song list) ... ;p

Bug confirmed. There were several hundred songs played I didn't request.

harr harr ... very funny

i know that there's songs i do not *request*
the front 242 song clearly had the yellow tag underneath saying "requested by creepster" at least in my browser (windows firefox)

at the moment i think it is a refreshing bug, either from the script or the web browser used
next time i make a screen shot

men .... pfffffbt

btw in the cases of songs played i do not like i wouldnt say "i did not request them" i'd frikken say "i dont like that shit ... but keep it playing anyway because somebody likes it"

PFFFFFBT .... MEN

It is a bug I've been trying to figure out. Sometimes, when you request a song, the song directly after it will still say 'Requested by X' even though I have specific code to clear that field out. Weirdest thing is, sometimes it clears, sometimes it doesn't.

I haven't worked on it too much lately as it is fairly low priority - if you refresh the page manually it will go away.

I'm assuming that was what happened.. as long as the song you DID request played OK :)

Alot of times i'll request a song and it says it'll play within the next few hours. most of the time i'll stay on for 2+ hrs. and never hear it. and it usually says my login time is way more less than my actual listen time, not that i care though. only once have i requested a song and it actually played while i was still logged in. i was outside when it happened, but my friend told me it played adn my request was gone

I gather the bug is still not fixed *sigh*:
According to your site I already requested a song today and wasn't allowed to request another song.
Fancy my surprise when a couple of other songs were played stating "Requested by DantharIndustries" that I didn't select, nor could have selected (in accordance with the rest of your site's scripting... )

Regards,

This bug is just a visual bug. It doesn't affect the site playing that request, it just sometimes shows that someone requested a song they didn't on the 'Now Playing' section. I show that you requested (and the site played) "Grendel - Dirty.mp3"

Looking at the playlist, it is there and the Shoutcast history shows that it played.

Specifically:

Code:
<09/17/09@08:00:09> [MAIN] Loading playlist (/home/simon/playlist.lst)
<09/17/09@08:00:09> [MAIN] Read 2500 playlist entries...
<09/17/09@08:00:09> [MAIN] Found (4524) entries in playlist
<09/17/09@08:00:15> [DECODE] Opened rotersand - dirty.mp3
<09/17/09@08:00:31> [MAIN] Title Updated
<09/17/09@08:05:12> [DECODE] Opened Grendel - Dirty.mp3
<09/17/09@08:05:28> [MAIN] Title Updated

The checks built in to ensure that people can't request multiple songs and various other restrictions are based on back-end tracking, not this visual bug.

So, the short version is - don't worry about it :)

Requests can take more than 2 hours to play. Depends on the size of the queue and whether or not other requesters are subscribers or not.

I *think* it's a flaw in my AJAX but I wasn't able to figure it out last time I poked around.

I can reproduce it. After a song I requested has been played, the 'requestedBy' div is not being updated until the next song requested by someone. It keep saying "Song requested by Piotr". Chrome 2.0.172.43 on WinXP.

Yeah, I just don't know why.. the code specifically tells that div to clear. I'll mess with it some more today, I haven't really worried about it too much lately.

Why when you request a song isn't given priority on the list?  Also why are we limited to only 1 request each day.  We don't have very many members that are logged in at a time.  I do understand that if there aren't limited someone would keep requesting the same band or quite frequent.  So what about 1 request each hours instead of each day?  I think that would make it a better station.
